이근민(b. 1982)은 개인이 겪은 불안과 위로, 상실과 회복이라는 양가적인 감정의 수많은 층위를 시각 언어로 치환하며, 회화의 새로운 가능성을 모색해 왔다. 그는 경계성 인격 장애라는 질병의 진단과 치료 과정을 출발점으로, 환각 상태에서 자신이 경험한 감각들을 창조적·전복적으로 승화하고, 장기, 소화계, 혈액 등 규범에서 해방된 신체를 화면 위에 적나라하게 드러낸다. 관객은 중첩된 색면과 흐트러진 형상, 추상적인 기호들 사이로 피어오르는 그의 내밀한 세계를 생생히 마주하게 된다. 서울대학교에서 서양화를 전공한 이근민은 2009년 서울을 시작으로 뉴욕, 파리, 베를린과 말뫼 등 세계 유수 도시에서 개인전과 단체전을 진행했다. 2022년 스페이스K에서의 개인전 «그리고 아무도 아프지 않았다»를 통해 강렬한 인상과 깊은 공감을 남긴 바 있다. 그의 작품은 스페이스K, 박서보 재단, 마드리드 콜렉시온 솔로 등에 소장되어 있다.
Keunmin Lee (b. 1982) has explored new possibilities in painting by translating the layered and ambivalent emotions of anxiety and solace, loss and recovery into a distinctive visual language. Taking as his point of departure the diagnosis and treatment of borderline personality disorder, Lee transforms the sensations he experienced during hallucinatory states into works that are at once creative and subversive. Organs, the digestive system, and blood are exposed across the canvas, released from normative constraints of the body and rendered with raw immediacy. Viewers encounter an intimate inner world that emerges vividly through overlapping planes of color, disjointed forms, and abstract signs. Lee studied painting at Seoul National University. Since his first exhibitions in Seoul (2009), he has held solo exhibitions and participated in group shows in major international cities including New York, Paris, Berlin, and Malmö. His solo exhibition 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘕𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘞𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘚𝘪𝘤𝘬 (2022) at Space K made a strong impression, resonating with audiences through its intensity and emotional depth. His works are held in collections such as Space K (Seoul, Korea), Park Seo-Bo Foundation (Seoul, Korea), and Colección Solo (Madrid, Spain).
