PKM 갤러리는 프리즈 서울 2024 부스에 한국과 세계 현대미술을 대표하는 주요 작가들의 엄선된 작품들을 선보인다.
현재 PKM 갤러리에서의 개인전과 함께 베니스 비엔날레 최고의 위성전시로 평가받으며, 베니스 현지에서 대규모 개인전이 성황리에 개최되고 있는 한국 최초의 추상화가 유영국 화백의 미공개 대표작과 더불어, 오는 12 월 마이애미 바젤의 Discovery Sector 개인전 작가로 선정된 정현의 주요 조각들이 부스에 소개된다. 단색화의 대가 윤형근, 정창섭의 작업과 서승원의 신작 회화들도 부스의 밀도와 무게감을 더할 것이다.
또한 올해 베니스 비엔날레 한국관 대표작가인 구정아의 신작 조각, 유럽을 무대로 ‘동등성’을 주제로 하여 활발히 활동하는 홍영인의 신작 회화, 뉴 미디어와 전통회화의 개념을 결합한 코디최의 회화 등이 전시된다. 이외에 8 월 30 일 개막 예정인 일민미술관의 솔로프로젝트, <이마픽스>의 작가로 선정된 백현진의 회화, 9 월 2 일 서울시립미술관의 퍼포먼스 프로젝트에 참여하는 전방위 예술가 이원우의 유쾌한 감성의 금속 평면작업, 내면의 의식 흐름을 유머와 발랄한 색상 및 유동적 형태로 표현한 정영도의 회화가 소개된다. 그리고 올 상반기 PKM 갤러리 개인전을 통해 큰 호응을 얻은 사진 미술계의 거장 토마스 루프의 대형 작업도 함께 보여질 예정이다.
올해 프리즈 서울의 PKM 갤러리 부스는 그 어떤 해 보다도 다채롭고 풍성한 작품들로 채워지는 만큼 관람객들에게 큰 감동과 흥미를 불러일으킬 것으로 기대된다.

The booth will feature previously unseen masterpieces by Yoo Youngkuk, Korea’s pioneering abstract painter, whose ongoing solo exhibition in Venice has been lauded as one of the top satellite shows of the Venice Biennale. Additionally, the booth will showcase significant sculptures by Chung Hyun, who has been selected for the Discovery Sector solo exhibition at Art Basel Miami this December. The presentation will be further enriched by works from Dansaekhwa masters Yun Hyong-keun and Chung Chang-Sup, alongside new paintings by Suh Seung-Won, adding depth and gravitas to the display.
The exhibition will also highlight the innovative practices of artists such as Koo Jeong-A, the representative artist for the Korean Pavilion at this year’s Venice Biennale, and Young In Hong, whose works explore the theme of ‘equality’ and have been widely exhibited across Europe. Additionally, the booth will feature new works by Cody Choi, who seamlessly blends new media and traditional painting concepts.
Among other featured artists, Bek Hyunjin, selected for the solo project Imapics at Ilmin Museum of Art, will present his paintings, while Wonwoo Lee, participating in a performance project at the Seoul Museum of Art, will showcase playful metalworks. Also, vibrant paintings by Young Do Jeong, expressing the flow of consciousness with humor and dynamic forms, will be displayed.
Moreover, the booth will include large-scale works by Thomas Ruff, a celebrated figure in photography, whose solo exhibition at PKM Gallery earlier this year received significant acclaim.
