PKM Gallery participates Art Basel Hong Kong 2021 ‘satellite booth.’
Participating artists include Yun Hyong-keun, the master of Dansaekhwa, Koo Jeong A, the pioneer of contemporary art who works across the globe, and Cody Choi, whose works include conceptual installations and his digital ‘database painting’ series-a new genre in art Choi has consistently been working on since 1997 as he foresaw the coexistence of the virtual and the actual world of the 21st century.
Artworks presented at the booth include physical paintings by Yun Hyong-keun and Koo Jeong A, and two of Cody Choi’s early database painting series,” Animal Totem” made in late 90’s that are NFT-minted and will be displayed on computer monitors as image files.
PKM 갤러리는 ABHK 2021 Satellite 섹션에 참가한다.
참여작가는 한국 단색화의 대가 윤형근, 동시대 미술의 선구작가로서 세계무대에서 활동중인 구정아, 그리고 개념적 조각 설치와 함께 21세기는 현실과 가상현실의 공존 시대가 될 것임을 예견하며 1997년부터 완전히 새로운 장르의 데이터베이스 디지털 페인팅을 꾸준히 함께 탐구해온 코디 최의 작품을 선보인다.
부스에는 윤형근과 구정아의 실물 회화들 , 그리고 코디 최의 초창기( 1999) 데이터베이스 페인팅인 “Anima Totem series” 두 점이 NFT화 되어 컴퓨터 모니터에 파일로서 전시된다.
