데이비드 즈워너 파리에서 현대미술의 거장 故 윤형근 화백의 개인전이 개최되었습니다. 이번 개인전에는 윤 화백이 1979년부터 1984년의 기간 중 제작한 회화 및 한지 작업 25점을 엄선하여 공개합니다.
해당 시기는 군부 정치에 대한 분노와 독자적인 화업을 이룩하고자 하는 열망으로 1980년 돌연 가족과 함께 한국을 떠나 파리에서 생활하였던 1982년까지, 윤 화백의 파리 체류기를 아우르기에 그 의미가 깊습니다. 전시된 작품들은 '천지문 天地門 ’ 형상을 다양하게 변주·발전시킨 거장의 예술세계와 실험정신을 조명하며, 고유의 회화적 언어에 대한 확신을 놓지 않고 작업에 매진하였던 윤 화백의 열정을 울림 있게 보여줍니다.
특히 윤 화백은 한지에 대해 남다른 애정을 드러낸 바 있는데, 이번 전시에서는 파리에서 제작된 12점의 한지 작품들이 별도의 전시장에 설치되어, 메인 전시장에서 힘있게 선보이는 회화작업과 달리 고요하게 거장의 섬세한 예술혼을 감상할 수 있도록 합니다. 전시는 2월 23일까지.
David Zwirner Paris announce solo exhibition of Yun Hyong-keun’s selected 25 paintings and never-before-exhibited works on 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘫𝘪 (Korean mulberry paper) in this presentation date from 1979 to 1984.
The period is meaningful to encompass the years before and after Yun’s residence in Paris for 1980 to 1982 with his family, due to harsh military dictatorship in Korea and try to establish his individual composition of painting. The works illuminate the master’s experimental spirit which transformed and developed the shape of ‘Gate of Heaven and Earth’, presenting the passion of Yun, who devoted himself to his work without losing confidence in his own visual language.
In particular, Yun showed special affection for 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘫𝘪, 12 pieces of 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘫𝘪 made in Paris are installed in a separate exhibition hall, allow us to appreciate the master’s delicate artistic spirit silently, unlike the paintings shown powerfully in the main hall. The exhibition will be held until February 23.
