보테가 베네타는 인트레치아토(Intrecciato) 기법의 탄생 50주년을 기념하여 전시 《세계를 엮다: 인트레치아토의 언어》를 6월 21일과 22일 양일간 개최합니다. 이번 전시에는 보테가 베네타 아카이브에서 단 한 점씩만 제작된 5가지 크리에이션과 함께, 강서경, 박성림, 박종진, 이광호, 이규홍, 이헌정, 정명택, 온지음 집공방, 홍영인 등 국내 작가들의 작품이 소개됩니다.
‘엮임’의 물리적·상징적 가능성을 탐색하는 이번 전시에서, 홍영인은 1970–80년대 한국 섬유공장에서 일했던 여성 노동자들의 실제 언어를 바탕으로 제작한 대형 태피스트리 <𝘞𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘦𝘥>(2021)를 선보입니다. 1960년대 공업용 니들 펀치 기계를 활용해 제작된 이 작품은 해체되고 뒤집힌 문장들을 천장에 매달린 직조 형태로 구성하여, 여성의 언어와 기억을 시각적 저항의 언어로 전환합니다.
바느질과 자수 등 여성의 노동에서 비롯된 형식을 예술로 확장해온 홍영인의 작업은 공예의 사회적 맥락을 환기시키며, 동등성과 집단적 참여라는 주제를 직조적 감각으로 풀어냅니다. 이번 전시는 전통과 현대, 공예와 예술이 교차하며, 서로를 ‘엮는’ 장이 될 것입니다.
Bottega Veneta celebrates the 50th anniversary of its signature Intrecciato technique with 𝘞𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘰, held on June 21–22. The exhibition features five unique archival creations alongside works by Korean artists including Suki Seokyeong Kang, Sung Rim Park, Jongjin Park, Lee Kwang-Ho, Lee Kyu Hong, Lee Hun Chung, Jung Myung Taek, Onjium Housing Studio, and Young In Hong.
Young In Hong presents 𝘞𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘦𝘥(2021), a large tapestry made with a 1960s industrial needle punch machine. The work draws on testimonies from women in 1970s–80s Korean textile factories, turning fragmented and inverted text into a visual language of resistance.
Rooted in embroidery and stitching—forms of undervalued female labor—Hong’s practice reconsiders the social role of craft, weaving in themes of equality and collective participation. The exhibition creates a space where tradition and modernity, craft and art are interlaced.
