올라퍼 엘리아슨의 튀르키예 첫 개인전 «Your Unexpected Encounter»가 이스탄불 현대미술관에서 개최되고 있습니다. 전시에서는 엘리아슨이 지난 30여 년간 집중적으로 탐구한 빛, 색, 지각, 움직임, 기하학 구조, 자연이라는 주제를 담은 주요 작업 40여 점과 함께, 미술관이 위치한 보스포루스 해협에서 모티프를 얻어 제작된 ‹Dusk to dawn, Bosporus› 등의 신작이 공개됩니다.
전시명 "당신의 뜻밖의 만남"은 관객이 마주할 때 작업이 비로소 완성된다는 작가의 생각을 반영합니다. 작품과 전시장 사이, 미술관과 주변 환경 사이의 경계를 흩트리는 그의 작업은 관객들을 역동적인 참여와 발견의 현장으로 이끌고, 새로운 시각을 가능하게 합니다. 전시는 내년 2월 9일까지.
Olafur Eliasson's first solo exhibition in Türkiye, 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘶𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳, is now on view at the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art. This exhibition brings together the essential forty works of Eliasson’s thirty-year career on light, color, perception, movement, geometry, and the environment—and it also debuts new works, including 𝘋𝘶𝘴𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘋𝘢𝘸𝘯, 𝘉𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘶𝘴, inspired by the Bosporus.
The exhibition title highlights Eliasson’s belief that it is the viewer’s active exploration and engagement that complete the artwork. His works invite viewers to participate in a dynamic process of discovery and open up their new perspectives by blurring the boundaries between the artwork and exhibition space, and the museum and the surroundings. The exhibition runs until February 9, 2025.
