올라퍼 엘리아슨의 대규모 회고전 《Your curious journey》가 동남아시아 최초로 인도네시아 자카르타에 위치한 Museum MACAN에서 진행 중입니다. 약 5개월간 진행되는 이번 전시는 빛, 물, 안개, 그림자, 자기력과 같은 자연의 기본 요소들을 예술적 매체로 승화시킨 엘리아슨의 독창적인 작품 세계를 통해, 관람객이 자연과 자신, 그리고 우리가 살아가는 세계와의 깊은 연결을 재발견하도록 이끕니다. 엘리아슨의 예술은 단순히 보는 것을 넘어 체험하고 참여하는 것입니다. 그의 작품들은 관람객의 움직임, 시선, 호기심에 반응하며 끊임없이 변화하고, 이를 통해 우리가 자연과 분리된 존재가 아닌 거대한 생태계의 상호 연결된 일부임을 깨닫게 합니다. 기후 변화와 환경 위기 시대에 엘리아슨은 예술을 통해 자연에 대한 경외감과 책임감을 불러일으키며, 우리가 살아가는 방식을 재고하도록 촉구합니다. 전시는 내년 4월 12일까지.

𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 by Olafur Eliasson is currently on view at Museum MACAN in Jakarta, Indonesia—the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. Spanning approximately five months, the exhibition transforms fundamental natural elements—light, water, fog, shadow, magnetism—into artistic media, guiding visitors toward a sensorial and embodied rediscovery of their connection to nature, themselves, and the world we inhabit. Rather than positioning Eliasson’s art as objects to be viewed, the works exist as evolving environments that respond to movement, gaze, and curiosity, revealing that perception is co-created through the presence of the viewer and that humans are not separate observers of nature, but participants within vast, interlinked ecological systems. In an age shaped by climate change and environmental crises, Eliasson composes moments that awaken both wonder and responsibility, encouraging us to reflect on—and reconsider—the ways we live alongside the natural world.
