작가 이불(b. 1964)의 조각 작품을 홍콩 M+ 파빌리온의 그룹전 《Five Artists: Sites Encountered》에서 만나보실 수 있다. 본 전시는 장소(site)에 관한 서로 다른 인식 및 관점을 조각, 설치 작업, 무빙 이미지 등 다양한 매체를 통해 탐구한 전시로, 이불을 비롯해 메이 펑(홍콩, b. 1952), 아나 멘디에타(미국, 1948–1985), 샤를로트 포세넨스케(독일, 1930–1985), 라라 알마세기(스페인, b. 1972) 등 다양한 문화와 세대를 아우르는 여성작가 5인이 참여한다. 이불은 건축적 이상향을 실재 또는 가상의 건물 모형 30여 점으로 구현한 설치 작업 등을 선보인다.
We are pleased to announce that Lee Bul (Korean, b.1964) is participating in the group exhibition 'Five Artists: Sites Encountered' held in M+ Pavilion, Hong Kong. This cross-cultural and cross-generational exhibition aims to explore different perspectives and understandings of place and environment. Sculptures, installations, and moving images by five international female artists including Lee Bul, May Fung(Hong Kong, b.1952), Ana Mendieta(American, 1948-1985), Charlotte Posenenske(German, 1930-1985), and Lara Almarcegui(Spanish, b.1972) are on display. In this exhibition, Lee showcases her sculptural works which are a group of over thirty maquettes of real and fictional buildings, responding to ideas of architectural utopias.
