구현모(b.1974)는 종이, 나무, 금속 등 다양한 재료와 기하학적 형태를 결합해 현실과 허구, 원리와 현상처럼 대립하는 개념의 경계를 탐구해왔습니다. 그의 작업은 하나의 고정된 형태를 만드는 것이 아니라, 형태가 끊임없이 생성되고 변화하는 구조를 구축하는 데 주목합니다. 관람자의 시선과 움직임에 따라 작품은 매 순간 새로운 형상을 드러내며, 익숙한 시공간과 지각의 방식을 새롭게 경험하도록 이끕니다.
P21에서 개최 중인 단체전 «Balance in Motion»에 구현모가 참가합니다. 이번 전시에 출품된 ‹달(Moon)›은 하나의 축 위에 또 다른 축이 겹쳐지고, 서로 다른 속도와 방향으로 회전하며 끊임없이 새로운 형상을 만들어냅니다. 작가는 달이라는 하나의 대상을 재현하기보다 '달이 될 수 있는 조건'을 구축하며, 작품이 단 하나의 모습으로 고정되지 않고 매 순간 서로 다른 형상과 의미를 생성하도록 합니다. 전시는 7월 4일까지.
Koo Hyunmo (b. 1974) explores the boundaries between seemingly opposing concepts—such as reality and fiction, principle and phenomenon—through the combination of diverse materials, including paper, wood, and metal, with geometric forms. Rather than creating fixed forms, his practice focuses on constructing structures through which forms are continuously generated and transformed. Shifting with the viewer’s movement and perspective, his installations reveal ever-changing configurations that invite audiences to experience space and perception in new ways.
Koo is participating in the group exhibition 𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, currently on view at P21. His work 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘯 begins with a single axis that overlaps with others, rotating at different speeds and in different directions to generate constantly changing forms. Rather than representing the moon as a singular object, Koo constructs the conditions through which it may become Moon, allowing the work to continually generate new forms and meanings rather than settling into a single, fixed image.
