베니스 팔라초 디에도의 전시 «Janus»에 카스텐 홀러가 참여합니다. 18세기 베니스 건축 양식을 보전한 팔라초의 각 공간이 우르스 피셔, 리우 웨이, 이우환을 포함한 세계적인 미술가 11명의 장소특정적 커미션 작업으로 탈바꿈했습니다. 로마의 신 '야누스'에서 제목을 따온 이 전시는 역사와 동시대라는 서로 다른 얼굴을 하나로 엮으려는 기획 의도를 나타냅니다.
카스텐 홀러의 출품작 ‹Scala del dubbio/Doubt Staircase›는 과거에 미완공되었던 팔라초의 나선형 계단을 활용한 대형 설치 작업으로, 비첸차 석회석, 마모리노 등 기존 건축 소재와 금속 구조물을 결합합니다. 이 영구적이고 기능적인 작업에서 5도 기울어진 계단은 건물의 주요 층을 연결하고 관객의 접근을 용이하게 합니다. 전시는 11월 24일까지.
Carsten Höller is now participating in the exhibition 𝘑𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘴 at Palazzo Diedo - Berggruen Arts & Culture in Venice. Each space of Palazzo, which preserves 18th-century Venetian architecture, has been transformed into site-specific commissions by internationally acclaimed artists including Urs Fischer, Liu Wei, and Lee Ufan. The exhibition title took the name of Janus, the Roman god of beginnings, symbolically shows its aim to bring the historical and contemporary together.
Carsten Höller’s 𝘚𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘥𝘶𝘣𝘣𝘪𝘰/𝘋𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘵 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘦, a large-scale installation work using the spiral staircase that was previously unfinished, combinates the historical materials such as Vicenza limestone and Marmorino with metal structures. The staircase is inclined by 5 degrees and will be fully accessible by visitors, connecting Palazzo’s main floors. The exhibition is runs until November 24, 2024.
